Terms of Use
MIRR is a small, invitation-only private beta operated by the MIRR founder. It is not represented as an incorporated company. These terms are written for the current five-adult testing round.
1. Participation
By choosing to participate and use MIRR, you agree to these terms and the linked Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not activate or use a hosted account. Access is personal, limited to invited adults, and must not be shared.
2. What MIRR provides
MIRR provides local-first capture, hosted account sync and search, and optional source-linked Daily MIRR, Reflection and Weekly MIRR features. If you choose a hosted account and are signed in and online, MIRR automatically attempts to sync eligible captures; guest capture is the non-hosted alternative. It is beta software: features, availability, providers, and support processes may change, pause, or fail while testing continues.
3. Your account and device
- Use an email account and device profile you control.
- Keep passwords, email links, sessions, and devices secure.
- Tell the MIRR founder promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
- Never send MIRR your password, authentication token, API key, or raw session link.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of journal entries and other content you submit. You give MIRR the limited permission needed to save, sync, search, process, display, export, and delete that content as requested by you and as needed to operate the beta. When you request Daily MIRR, Reflection or Weekly MIRR generation and the server uses OpenAI, selected synced content and relevant context may be sent to OpenAI as described in the Privacy Policy. MIRR does not acquire ownership of your journal.
5. MIRR’s proposals are not facts
Reflection and other generated output may be wrong, incomplete, or unhelpful. MIRR proposes; you decide. Silence is not confirmation. Do not treat MIRR output as proof about you or another person.
6. No professional or emergency service
MIRR is not therapy, diagnosis, medical care, legal advice, financial advice, crisis response, emergency support, or professional judgment. If you need urgent help, contact local emergency services, an appropriate crisis service, or a trusted person.
7. Acceptable use
Use MIRR for lawful personal capture, reflection, and agreed beta testing. Do not:
- share access or attempt to access another participant’s account or data;
- attack, probe, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass MIRR or its providers without written permission;
- submit content you do not have the right to provide;
- use MIRR to harass, threaten, exploit, or harm someone; or
- rely on MIRR as the only copy of information you cannot afford to lose.
8. Privacy and providers
The Privacy Policy explains local storage, hosted account data, optional OpenAI-backed Daily MIRR, Reflection and Weekly MIRR, browser speech processing, providers outside Canada, data controls, and known retention limits. Only enter information you are comfortable processing under that beta setup.
9. Availability and data-loss risk
Local-first capture reduces some failure risk but does not eliminate it. Browser clearing, private-browsing limits, device problems, sync failures, account issues, provider incidents, product bugs, or operator error can cause interruption or loss. MIRR is provided for testing without a promise of uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, or guaranteed recovery.
10. Feedback and support
You may send feedback voluntarily. MIRR may use it to improve the product and beta process. Do not include private journal text unless it is necessary to explain an issue and you choose to share it. Support and privacy questions can be sent to support@mymirr.app. No guaranteed response time is promised by these terms.
11. Leaving the beta
You can stop participating at any time. When available on the deployed build, Privacy & data provides synced-data download, current-browser clearing controls, and recoverable account closure. These are separate: closing a hosted account does not remotely erase local copies on every device. You may contact the MIRR founder for help with beta removal or an account-data request.
12. Suspension or end of access
The MIRR founder may pause or end access for security, privacy, abuse, reliability, cost, provider, capacity, or product reasons. Where practical, MIRR will explain what happened and how to ask about account data.
13. Responsibility and non-waivable rights
You choose whether and how to use beta output and remain responsible for decisions you make. To the extent permitted by applicable law, MIRR is offered without warranties about availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms removes a right or responsibility that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
14. Location and changes
This private beta is operated from Alberta, Canada. Alberta and Canadian law may apply depending on the activity and location involved. MIRR is an evolving app and may update these terms from time to time. The version and effective date above identify the current terms, and participants should check this page periodically. Minor or operational updates may take effect when posted without individual notice. If a change is material, affects how personal information is handled, or applicable law requires notice or consent, MIRR will use reasonable steps to present the change before it applies or before continued hosted-account participation. Nothing in this section limits any notice, consent, or other right required by applicable law.
